Many believe that California is the best place to have a carwash. The winter seasons are not so bad and people spend more money on their cars than anywhere else in the United States. In fact it really is the car capital of the World, with more cars per person than even Detroit. In fact one survey showed that there was one point seven cars for every man, woman and child. What city in California stands to be the best place for a new carwash? Well North East San Diego Country, Riverside and Sacramento. Many believe that Sacramento makes sense as the competition is dismal and that is an area that is growing fast. In fact I recently visited and have been there myself and have seen all the new housing, shopping centers, etc. A car wash could do well there. So yes, indeed the demographics are good in that area of Sac. But not so fast; to open a car wash in California it takes a masochist mindset, other than that it is fine. If you decide to go ahead with it, you need a lot of patience for bureaucracy and delays. Additionally you will need extra money set aside for lawsuits and the girlie men are always changing the laws on environmental and labor issues. Are you quite certain you are up for something like this? Have you run a business before which is labor intensive? Strong demand alone is not a big enough reason to go for it. You need to love paperwork, blood sucking lawyers and inane socialist trite, because that is what you are in for. However the money will be good since people love their cars as much, often more than their own families. Think on this, that is California in a "nut shell." Land of the Nuts, Fruits and Flakes. |
