Creating Content for Adsense Sites is Not Easy, But Can Pay For Itself in the Long Run

Author: Michael Jensen

By now you probably know about Adsense and its potential to generate revenue for your site. Getting traffic from Google Adwords and Yahoo's Overture has worked, but you're not getting the return on investment (ROI) that you had hoped for, or it might have even burned a hole in your pocket. Any attempt at creating Adsense revenue must involve content, and not just any content, but you need quality, optimized, unique content.

There are different ways to develop your AdSense copy. One method is to outsource your content needs to a third party provider. Be careful. Not all web content outsourcing agencies provide redundant editing and careful scripting. You may have to spend hours of your time reworking "finished" free content pages to correct spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and grammatical flubs. When you extrapolate how much this editing can cost you purely in terms of your time, it may make sense to look for a different way to develop content.

You can also source free content by cutting and pasting from sites like Wikipedia and competitor pages. There are problems with this free content approach, as well. Plagiarizing can get you in trouble, even on the web. Even self-plagiarizing (duplicate content) can cause you to get booted from Google's ranking system. Moreover, if you borrow liberally from other sites, you end-up losing the "voice" of your own website.

Perhaps you can use a computer to generate nonsense content (or, semi nonsense content) that's stuffed with key words and key phrases relating to your business. The idea here is to puff up your website with lots of terms that relate to your business in hopes that Google will mistake you for an authority and rank you highly for those stuffed key phrases. While the strategy in theory sounds intelligent, in practice, it turns out to be a disaster. Google and the other search engines have algorithms that can filter out junk copy. Thus, you can spend days or weeks churning out this copy -- or you can spend thousands of dollars on computer generated algorithms -- only to get a nil result.

So where does that leave you in terms of your AdSense initiative? Truth be told, your best bet is to develop original, unique, optimized copy about your brand, service, or product. There is really no shortcut here. To attract the broadest possible audience, your content must be snappy, verb packed, and statistically correct.

In short, you need to work with a company like Applied Content, which boasts top-shelf copywriters from the Ivy League and a great reputation for service. We can help you put together search engine optimized copy to boost your presence on the search engines. Clients of Applied Content see a remarkable ROI, and we have great references from firms both big and small. Contact Applied Content to get a free demo content page of high quality, original content about your business. You don't need to blow your budget on complicated advertorial schemes to rank well -- you just need intelligently placed, focused copy. Start generating income from your sites by starting with great content -- contact Applied Content for all your web content needs.
