Managing Math

Author: Adam Johnes
A recent math assessment of 15-year-olds from around the world placed American students 24th out of 29 countries taking part in the study. To raise scores and improve math skills, many frustrated parents are turning to the Internet to get homework help for their children struggling with math.

One homework help site, NutshellMath, is successfully helping thousands of students around the country. With its Listen and View technology, students hear the voices of real math teachers explaining math concepts and see the teachers' own handwriting as they illustrate how to solve problems similar to those found in the very textbook being used in class. NutshellMath is aligned, page for page, to the leading Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry textbooks used in middle and high school math classes, so students can apply what they've learned to their own homework assignments. They can also take online quizzes to check their proficiency or to prepare for classroom tests.
