Daily "On Purpose" reading is exactly what many successful business owners use to increase their profits and free up more time to spend with family and friends.

The term "daily reading" is easy enough to understand, but what do I mean by "on purpose"? Well, reading "on purpose" simply means reading material that relates to your line of work. As Brian Tracy says, the top 5% of all achievers take some time each day to read something in their chosen field.

For example, if you are a math teacher for middle school students, setting aside 15-30 minutes every morning (or evening) to read about the latest trends in math education would be a great use of your time. Not only will it help you become a much better teacher over time, but it will also make you more likely to get a bigger raise or to get promoted or to achieve any other career-related goal you may have.

This simple step often makes the difference between the top 5% of people and the remaining 95%. So ask yourself this question...

Do you want to be in the top 5% of your field or in the bottom 95%?

Before you answer that, consider this little-known fact. The top 5% are the people who are financially independent, the most fulfilled in their careers, and the most in-demand people in their line of work.

So if your answer is YES and you want to be in the top 5%, then get started with this simple step today. If you are not already subscribed to the top 2-3 trade publications for your industry, then now is the time to do this.

Whether you read an industry magazine, a related book, a printed article from the Internet, or any other type of printed material, it doesn't matter. What does matter is that you set aside some time each day to read some material. As you read, you may also want to highlight or underline key points in the material for future reference. Or better yet, take notes in a separate notebook to keep track of all the wonderful insights that you learn.

If you try this consistently for 21 days, you will be very glad you did. At a minimum, doing this simple step for 21 days straight will boost your confidence and your effectiveness on the job or in your business, whichever the case may be.
