Finally, I woke up feeling I had my summer cold on the run. Nose and ears were gradually clearing, as was my mind. So, after feeding the pets and sitting down at my desk, I wanted a victory, a win, a breakthrough, or at least an acknowledgement that Im moving in the right direction. First, I checked to see how my favorite stock is doing, but today, its more or less a flat-liner, despite the fact that the Dow is up more than 100 points. Thats a mystery, and theres no inspiration in that direction, I quickly concluded. Next, I looked at my Ezine articles, that cache of more than 600 little efforts that Ive crafted over the last six months, and that did it. POP! you could almost hear a balloon breaking, and the pressure being released. Gazing at all of that productivity, I liked what I saw and I felt good about it. For the first time, really in days, I experienced relief and was egged on to accomplish more. If the need to achieve is building up in you, thats a good sign. It can be uncomfortable at the moment because you may not have a way of channeling your expanding energy, leading to a sense of frustration, irritation, and general unease. What you need is to find a way to let this bag of expanding motivations POP! By this, you should find a way of getting something done, feeling a win, generating a victory, however small. This can be accomplished by looking back at your past wins and appreciating them, or it could be getting to a long delayed item on your procrastination list. |
