2 Free Basketball Picks Jan 17, 2006: Phoenix Suns Versus Sacramento Kings

Author: David Pincus

There are only two games on Tuesday but on today's slate, the NBA features the Suns and Kings matchup. The Kings were the exciting team of a couple of years ago but now it is the Phoenix Suns emerging as a fan favorite.

Free Picks #1

Best: Suns @ Kings: Sacramento was the architect to the run-and-gun offense we see so many teams initiate nowadays. Phoenix has emerged as the best team with that style of play, while the Kings have finally worn out. Peja and Abdur-Rahim just can't run anymore, and it shows in the win column. Despite being at home, we should see these Kings struggle in the fast paced game and lose. Predicted Score: Phoenix wins 107-103

Free Picks #2

Runner-up: Raptors @ Jazz: Utah has emerged as the division leader and have begun to win more frequently at home. They were at the top of the division last year until an injury to Kirilenko literally took them out of the playoff hunt. They have to win 25 home games to be a playoff team. That sounds like chump change but Utah has already done their damage on the road. Winning in Detroit makes them a dangerous team. As we see these Jazz at home against a weak Raptors team, there is no reason to believe that the Jazz will have a let down. Predicted Score: Utah wins 97-91
